4th Annual Forney Classic Golf Tournament April 27, 2024

The Greencastle-Antrim Music Boosters fourth annual golf

tournament will be held Saturday, April 27, at the Greencastle

Golf Club. The four-person scramble will begin with a 9 a.m.

shotgun start.

The cost is $100 per Adult/$80 per Student (Early Bird), or $125 per Adult/$100 per Student (day of), which includes 18 holes

of golf, driving range, putting green, and buffet lunch. There

will be $20 game day package available which includes one

Powerball, one mulligan, on course contests, and prizes.

The tournament benefits the G-A Music Programs 5th - 12th

grade. 10% of the proceeds to benefit Cumberland Valley

Breast Care Alliance in memory of Mr. Samuel B. Forney.

The late Samuel B. Forney influenced scores of music students over the course of more than three decades and his influence will continue with a new fundraiser being organized in his name by the Greencastle-Antrim Music Boosters.
Forney passed away from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma on Nov. 10, 2013, at the age of 58. Ten percent of the funds raised at the tournament will be donated in his honor for local cancer research.
The remainder will be used by the music boosters to help with expenses not covered by the school district — everything from new instruments to guard flags — for grades 5 through 12.
Forney dedicated his life to his music programs and was Greencastle-Antrim High School band director for 32 years. He directed the field band, concert band, indoor guard and percussion and jazz ensembles.
